February Favourites

We’re into the first full week of march already. How fast is this year passing already?! I thought that now would be a good time to reflect on some of my February faves which are just some of the items that I have started using or enjoying on a daily basis in the last month.

Lets jump into it shall we?

I received the Urban Decay Naked Heat pallet for my birthday in January from my friends, I still absolutely love it and enjoy creating different looks with it almost every day. It’s super versatile and I’ve been able to do both everyday office makeup and a more dramatic look for the evenings. I know that I’m a bit late to the party with this one but it was released while I was travelling and I was already carrying the Naked Smoky pallet so I had to hold off until I returned home before I could get my mitts on it.

My hands have been getting chapped in the cold weather, especially with the recent snow so I’ve been getting a lot of use out of my Khiels ‘Ultimate Hand Salve’. It makes my hands feel better and smells amazing. I’ve been using it every morning before I leave for work and every night before I go to bed.

I’ve always felt a bit self conscious about my teeth and love trying new products that whiten and improve them. I found the Oral-B 3D White luxe on offer in Tesco for £2.50 so I thought I’d give it a try. I’ve used it everyday for just over two weeks and I have to say that I have noticed a bit of improvement! My teeth aren’t as white as I’d like them to be but James has commented on it as well so the toothpaste must be doing something.

I’ve been coming out in a lot of spots recently and I’d read that cutting dairy can help improve skin. I  decided to give it a try and originally bought almond and coconut milk but didn’t like how it tasted in tea (a big deal breaker), Oat milk was recommended by a vegan friend as a more neutral dairy free alternative and I have to say that I agree that it works much better. I actually prefer it to cows milk now and also use it to make overnight oats for breakfast. I haven’t noticed much difference in my skin yet but I want to try it for a bit longer before deciding if it has worked or not.

I had a bout of childhood sweet nostalgia and developed a fancy for some Chewits earlier in the month. I bought a multi-pack and have been pleased with my decision ever since (probably not good for the skin as mentioned above but certainly good for the soul).

My last February fave is a kindle book that I downloaded just over a fortnight ago ‘Follow You Home‘ by Mark Edward. I’m actually quite a book worm and enjoy reading during my lunch break at work and when I’m in bed so that I can wind down before going to sleep. I don’t usually do recommendations but I loved this book! It’s a psychological thriller about a couple who are forced to abandon their amazing inter-railing trip when an encounter on a train leads to a series of dark events. I couldn’t put this book down and finished it within two weeks. I enjoyed it so much that I even recommended it to my colleagues in the office.  I feel like it’s been a while since I have been drawn into a story like that.

So that’s it, these are the new products that have crept into my life over the last month and probably won’t be leaving it anytime soon. Well, except for the book, but I wont be forgetting the story anytime soon.

Have you tried any of these faves? Let me know what you think x
