April BirchBox

The April BirchBox was partnered with Cath Kidson to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of the fashion brand. This collaboration resulted in a pretty box design and a few good items.

The first item that I picked out was the Catholic Kidson Handcream (RRP: £2.50). This is a travel sized Handcream which I always prefer because I can carry it in my bag without adding too much weight. I suffer with dry hands so a hand cream is always a win for me and the fact that it smells great makes it a welcome addition to my collection.

I was a bit unsure when I pulled out the Beautaniq Beauty Fill + Tame Brow Gel (RRP: £8.60) as I had never used a brow gel before receiving this. After a bit of trial and error, my worries were soon put to ease. This goes on super easily and has quickly become a part of my morning make up routine when I am rushing for work in the morning.

I would say that on the first few applications, you have to watch that you don’t go in to heavy with the brush but once you get used to applying the gel it’s all good.

The ModelCo Baked Highlighter (RRP: £24) was one of the few disappointments in this month’s box. It is meant to be one of the full sized items of this month’s subscription but its tiny. If the colour payoff was decent, i wouldnt have minded quite as much, but I couldnt get that much product onomy highlight brush and the only way i could pick up much product was by rubbing my fingers over it.

If I had payed £24 for this product I would have been quite upset.

The two products that I have yet to try from this month’s box is the Whish Shave Crave in Grapefruit (RRP: £14.80) and the Marcelle BB Creme Golden Glow Illuminator (RRP: £25.50).

I’m a dedicated waxer so I don’t really shave unless it’s an emergency. The shave creme smells lovely so I’m going to keep it for an upcoming holiday. I think I’m going to wait until next weekend to try out the BB cream to see if it gives me the promised Glow and dewiness!

I enjoyed most of this month’s BirchBox. There were only a couple of items that I feel I couldn’t use. I wasn’t able to pick out my choice of product for this month, I suspect the team may have been a bit late in getting them out! Next month subscribers should be able to pick out their choice of two lip stains, I look forward to seeing what I will get!
