I’ve been a bit MIA lately because I’ve been in the process of moving house over the last few weeks so make up wise, I’ve revisited some old faves while also trying one or two new items. I also came across the Oral B Genius toothbrush which I had received as part of the Boots Review Panel.
Starting off with make up, I received the Fill and Tame brow gel in my April edition Birch Box and I have used it daily for work ever since. It has been a fab addition to my make up bag because I just get my brows filled in with minimal fuss in the mornings.
I revisited the Tarte ‘Posh Pout’ liquid lipstick set which I picked up in Sydney. I’ve used most of the colours out of this set religiously but I’ve stayed away from the lightest colours because I didn’t think that they would look right. A couple of weeks ago, I threw caution to the wind and was surprised to find that the shade ‘Novel’ didn’t look half bad on me!
As the weather has improved, I’ve started using a bit more bronzer so I’ve been picking up the ‘Mannakadar’ bronzer more and more over the last few weeks. I don’t apply a lot but I’ve been trying to maintain some of the colour that I picked up from travelling.
The food is one of the things that I have been missing most about travelling around Asia. As sad as it sounds, you cannot imagine my excitement at finding out that Tesco have started really expanding out their ‘world food’ section. These Street Kitchen ‘Asian Scratch Kits’ have been amazing, they are the most authentic flavours to what we ate while we were away (that we’ve found to date anyway). I was happy to find this Vietnamese Lemongrass chicken kit because I rarely come across any Vietnamese kits in South Wales. I’ve also tried the Malaysian Satay Chicken, Chicken Teriyaki and the Korean Bulgogi Beef and can report that all were fab.
These are super easy to assemble and feel (to me anyway) a bit tastier and Healthier than just pouring a jar of sauce over some meat.
I’ve been getting into thriller books lately but fancied trying something a bit different. I picked ‘Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine’ by Gail Honeyman purely because I found it on the bestsellers list and I was intrigued by the description, but I found myself sucked into this book. It’s hard not to sympathise with the main character ‘Eleanor’, we know that she has had a hard life from the off but other than a few clues, we don’t delve into the horrors of her past until she is ready to embrace it. There were a lot of heart warming moments and it was nice to watch Eleanor as her social skills improve.
One of the last things that I wanted to include in my April Faves is the Dyson V6 cordless vacuum cleaner. I know – I felt old as I typed that! We had a lot of furniture and appliances to buy for our new house and I knew as soon as I started looking at appliances that I wanted a cordless so that I could whizz up and down stairs with it. The power on this is great, it’s really lightweight and it wasn’t as expensive as some of the other models so its a purchase that I’m pleased with!
That was everything that I have been loving in the last month. What products did you love throughout April?
