A few days after we moved into our new house, the May Birch Box was posted through the front door…I cannot deal with how fast this year is whizzing by… Still it’s not all bad, it just means that my Walt Disney World trip will arrive ever quicker!
This month’s Birch Box is a tropical print, the theme is ‘palm leaves and warm breeze’. My immediate disappointment with this box is that I didn’t receive a full sized item. I saw online that some people received a Spectrum blush brush so I am quite jealous as there are a few things in my box that I probably won’t get much use out of.
The Greenfrog Botanic natural body wash (RRP £8.95) came in a geranium and peppermint scent. This smells really nice and is an ideal size for my gym bag.
The Native Unearthed activated charcoal natural deodorant balm (RRP: £7.99) is a little unnerving for me so I have yet to use it. I appreciate that it is a natural and cruelty free way to apply an antiperspirant but I just don’t think that I’d want to faff about with a glob of balm and then rub it into my arm pits.
The NUXE aquabella micro-exfoliating purifying gel (RRP: £12) cleans away make up really well and doesn’t dry the face out. It also smells lush.
The Doucce Lucious Lip stain in ‘amber rose’ (RRP: £21) applies really easily but unfortunately, I’m not sure that the colour looks quite right on me.
The star of the box for me was the Eyeko skinny liquid eyeliner (RRP: £16). This goes on super easily, is really black and stays on all day. I even think this outshines my Kat Von D tattoo liner. A definite keeper!
This is going to be my last BirchBox for a couple of months. I’m saving every spare penny for my upcoming Disney trip and unfortunately, the last couple of BirchBoxes haven’t blown me away so I thought that I would rather keep the £12 a month for something towards my trip.
Who knows though? I may get an email with an exclusive item and have to resubscribe!
